Jupiter Cement Industries plans expansion of cement plant at Hansda in Saraikela district of Jharkhand. The project involves setting up of manufacturing facilities to produce clinker (540,000 tpa) and Portland Slag Cement (259,500 tpa) and PPC (180,000 tpa) and a captive power generation unit of capacity 20 MW. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 4854 million.
As of February 2018, Shree Cement Ltd has taken over the company and is planning to set up the plant.
